I was on this boat the end of April 2008 and found it very basic and a real rip off! They insisted you pay tips up front, (I don't mind paying tips for good service, but at my own discretion), and had to give 50 sterling before they gave us the keys to the cabin. From then on it was handing out money like Al Bundy in 'married with children'. Probably ended up the most expensive trip I have ever taken and seen very little for my money. The food though was reasonable, the cabins clean, but basic, (though we did have a constant leak from the very noisy air conditioning unit), and we found they attitude of the staff a 'take it or leave it one' as there will be more tourists along soon.

What a good holiday! My partner and I booked this cruise last summer bacause it was such a good price. I was quite concerned when I read other peoples reviews but I have to say that overall the holiday was excellent. Its sounds like some people had trouble with tips while they were there but we were not asked for any money up front, we tiped at the end of the week for what ever amount we wanted. Our cabin was basic but very clean and the maid service was excellent, making the towels into animal shapes was a lovely touch. Our guide Waheed was superb and all of the trips excellent. The food was good but a lot of people did have upset stomachs while there. The drink prices are about the same as you would pay in UK. It claims to be a 5 star, I would say the boat is closer to a 3 but the staff and service is like 5 star. I would detinately go again. We had a lovely time.

This ship is not five star as it claims to be, it 3 at best, sun loungers are filthy, stairs on to top deck are the same as is the carpet down to the lower decks, food was not bad at all and the staff tried hard to please. You're told what you have to tip at the start and its a 50 English for crew and the tour guide even if you haven't booked any trips! He still wants his cut, I don't like being told how much I should tip and I seem to remember tipping to be a goodwill gesture and not a demand! Needless to say they didn't get the full amount they asked for. There are a lot of better ships on the Nile and my advice is to use one of them, most of, if not all, our fellow travellers were of the same opinion. The drinks are extortionate at 4.60 per pint and you're charged for water at your table with your evening meal. The orange squash and blackcurrant at breakfast are horrible, weak and a mile away from fresh juice, toast that you could use as tiles, yep it's that hard! I would really avoid this ship if you can.

I have just stayed on this boat and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Although some guests complained about the food, I thought it was of a good standard with a range of choice for each meal. Of course, if you go on a cruise in Egypt, the food is going to be somewhat different to that what you eat at home! The staff made every effort to ensure that guests were comfortable and our guide was excellent. I would recommend this holiday to anyone!
