I read the reviews and went with open mind, unfortunately they were right. This place was unbelievable. All inclusive was only local beer, wine and Ouzo at certain times of the day. Breakfast was the same every day, melon, bread cheese, ham and burnt scrambled egg. The other meals were repetitive and you had to fight off the flies to get anything decent!! The owner was rude and we witnessed a staff member being threatened with having his eyes gouged out and another of the locals that worked in the kitchens hit a man for daring to ask for clean towels.... The 15-year-old daughter along with her 11-year-old sister ran the bar and the reception area. The dad, the owner just sat and smoked. The health and safety of the place left a lot to be desired, fire hose were not actually attached to anything, electrics were hanging off in the shower. Nowhere near enough sun beds, pool was ok, fairly clean. Sea front was full of dog mess and no sand in sight. Reports a man made beach is 10 mins walk away. We walked anly seafront both ways for an hour and never found it.

What can I say. We paid for all inclusive and we paid and we paid. I am not a big drinker and orange juice was not part of the all inclusive, it was 3.50 per glass and fizzy mineral water was 2. We arrived at 3pm and could not eat although we were hungry. We were told that we could get a sandwich at the pool bar, but that we would have to pay for it, actually very little was all inclusive. To cut a long story very short (and I love Crete, I have been 6 times, no prior probs) I have never had a worse holiday experience. The staff fought. The 15 year old daughter ran bar and reception and understandably could not cope. The owner fired a member of staff in front of the guests. I witnessed Greek people wanting to "have a go" at the owner for the state of their rooms and the lack of service. I thought that I was witnessing Fawlty Towers. I will be writing to ABTA. This is the first holiday that I will be oficially complaining about in my life and I am in my late 50s, so that should tell you how bad it was!

Having heard some notorious reports just after booking, we were pleasantly surprised. Fair enough, the rooms aren't the greatest and its not the most pleasant spot on the island but considering the cost it is really difficult to complain. One word of advice: Steer clear of anyone who introduces himself as Stellios. You'll soon see why.
