We booked a last minute holiday to Kefalos and read various reviews of the available accommodation before booking. All the reviews we read of the Antonis were good and we weren't disappointed. The Antonis Hotel doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. It's a basic (like most accommodation in Greece we've stayed in) but great value for money. The hotel is in an excellent location, only 50 meters from the beach and restaurants (some closer). There are 13 rooms which were cleaned every day (except Sunday) and the sheets and towels were changed regularly. We were lucky enough to have a room with a double bed and, even though our room was overlooking the main road,we were never troubled by noise (and I'm a light sleeper). We also had a brilliant view up to Kefalos Old Village.
Peter (who is Greek) runs the hotel, with help from his mum and one cleaner. It seems like he never stops working, from keeping the bar open till 3 am for late flights to serving breakfasts, having cleaned the pool in the meantime! He has a great sense of humour and is very helpful (eg offering to run someone up to the old village when the only cash machine in the resort had run out of money). Breakfasts are served between 8.30 and 10.30am and alternate between boiled egg or ham and cheese in addition to toast, jam, orange juice and excellent mugs of tea or coffee. He sometimes breaks with routine and serves excellent Greek honey and yoghurt, just to confuse you! English breakfasts can also be bought for a few Euros. The pool, bar offers a range of snacks; the tuna and mayo sub-type sandwich is delightful and the souvlaki to die for!
