I urge you to ignore the bad reviews. They amount to nothing more than complaints about there being nothing for kids. That's a major plus in my humble opinion - it makes for an extremely relaxing stay. It's also shorthand for "there was nowhere for us to offload the sprogs so we could get smashed" - If you want that, go to Pontins and leave the Aegean View to the grown-ups. Truly fabulous hotel and the staff were as good as any high end hotel I've ever stayed in. Boat trip (10 Euros) was great - swimming in the lagoon whilst the BBQ was being prepared on the boat was magnificent. Pools wonderful - usual Brit nonsense about the water being freezing is, of course, nonsense. If you don't like it, stay out of the pools (gene as well as swimming...) :) Never been to a place where the staff are so *genuinely* attentive. Highly recommended and will certainly return.

I had a bad experience at Aegean View, the staff were working from 8am to 11pm and there was always someone leaving as the boss didn't pay them their wages. They were paid monthly and when pay day came around he said they had many 'fines' and they owed him money! Horrible place.

Aegean view (Paradisi)
I went to the Aegean View (Paradisi) in September of 2007 and loved it. There were some negatives, for example being quite far from a any beach and the town centre, however taxis to the town centre cost around 8 which was good. The reception will also call the taxi for you. The staff were very friendly, especially the animation team who were excellent and me and my partner made good friends with one of the team. Food was great, and if you are fussy they have chips every night and always a vegetable dish. They also have an outside BBQ at the end of the week which was great. Be aware that free drinks are only served until 11pm on all inclusive and only local spirits, beers and wine is included. They also have snacks (toasties) available from the pool bar which were quite nice. The entertainment is on every night, they have a childrens' disco before the more adult games start which is great. Me and my boyfriend took part in a couples competition which was hilarious, and the games throughout the day have a prize of a cocktail in the evening. However if you do win you will also be expected to jump in the pool. The hotel offers a free trip around the islands where they stop and you can jump off the boat. This was great but try and be the first in the queue to get the bast places on the boat. I would also recommend taking a visit over to turkey, but don't book with the hotel, just go to Kos Town in the morning and book with a boat along the port, it was much cheaper. Also visit the thermal spas. It is one out door sort of large rock pool, it is boiling, but does make you stink of sulphur. It also has a fairly long steep climb back to the top. You can get a bus back or a taxi if you prefer. The room was great, we has an upstairs with 3 beds and a downstairs with a double with an ok bathroom for just the two of us. We were lucky also to be in one of the more separate areas with a few apartments with their own pool. The golf cart did come up and down often, and if you want call 0 for free and it will come and get you to go to the main part of the complex. Even though it was quite a walk to the beach there were 7ish pools in the complex to keep you entertained. I would highly recommend this holiday.

This hotel complex is situated in the hills up from Kos Town in a very isolated area. The rooms are all over in small complexes some with shared pools. They have little club cars that can run you up and down to your apartments if you are at the top of the hill. This is essential because in the heat the hill becomes very steep and the hotel amenities are all at the bottom of the complex. The bar is also only at the bottom therefore the all inclusive drinks ice cream and dried up toasties and 2 inch hot dogs are seldom used by those at the top of the complex. A clever ploy by the management I think. The snacks are rubbish and you end up spending quite a lot of money to supplement this. This is like no other all inclusive that I have ever visited before it is not true to its word. The meals are ok quite a few choices but of the same type of food chips, pasta, salads and stews. A lot of children found it very hard to find something they liked on a daily basis and you had to fight to get to the food because there are a lot of Dutch and Germans with no manners who constantly push in and push you out of the way. It is a bit like being in a school canteen. The food, whatever it was supposed to be, seemed to taste the same. The locally produced alcoholic drinks were all inclusive but the wine was like paint stripper and all the other drinks, beer, etc were very watery and weak. Put it this way you certainly would not get drunk or even tipsy on them. You could buy your own of course (locally produced) in their shop which was ok. This to my mind and every other person was a complete rip-off. They must have made a fortune in that shop because no one could drink the stuff at the bar. The management were horrible one huge Greek man who you could hear screaming at his staff on a daily basis and was actually quite intimidating and a thin lady who didn't know how to smile. They love the Dutch and Germans and quite obviously hate the Brits. The cleaners and bar staff, etc were lovely, mostly from Poland and the Czech Republic but they were treated very badly by the management and on one occasion had all their bedding, towels pillows, etc taken away from them and were made to sleep on the floor like animals. This was because they had left wet towels on the floor. They worked 11 hour days for a pittance. The owner was a nasty man. There are TVs in the rooms but only Dutch and German channels apart from 1 BBC World news. The Rooms are clean and linen changed daily. Not what we expected. The pool table didn't exist and you had to buy your own ball to play table tennis. The gym was 3 bits of equipment from the dark ages and the Jacuzzi stank. You are supposed to go to bed when the entertainment which is naff finishes at 11pm and are not allowed to use the pools or play football after 6pm and get told off for talking quietly on your balcony after 11.30 because the Dutch complain. We had beautiful weather and the views are spectacular but not 4* all inclusive a bit of a rip-off and more like a school trip than a family holiday. Would never go here again and certainly would not recommend it to anyone else. We ae a family of 5 from Kent.

The views were outstanding. The Aegean View hotel is nowhere near star rating. The food was poor, the drink worse the amenities non-existant. Accomdation was adequate and cleaned daily. We were at the top of the hill and in the heat the buggy cars where a godsend. Some of the staff were helpful especially the assistant manager Anna however I agree with Karens comments about the big Greek man who was always shouting at staff in front of clients, he really did not care. The rules within the hotel were draconian to say the least. There is also alot of refurbishments going on ie while we were there sunshades were erected outside the pools. For this hotel to be all inclusive was a joke. I have never spent so much money on an all inclusive holday before even had to buy water as all the amenities are at the bottom of the hill. I would not recommend this the Aegean View Hotel in Kos to anybody. The only positive aboutl the holday was the weather was fantastic and the people we went with.

The Aegean View is situated in the hills up from Kos Town in a nice quiet area. The rooms are scattered around the complex, with little club cars that will take you up the hill to your room. There is a shop, restaurant, pools, dining area, gym, sauna, and a bar. We stayed there on an all-inclusive basis. The food was ok, there was lots of choice, and the area was very clean. You can have drinks(soft and alcholic) and snacks consisting of cheese and ham toasties, hot dogs, Ice cream and cakes, these are served in the afternoon. They also have two BBQ nights there a week. The staff were very pleasant, and we had no problems with our stay. The cleaners came in everyday, and were always around the site sweeping and cleaning. We were warned that there were ants there by the rep, but we didn't see any, however, there are lots of mosquitos around. Rooms are ok, very clean also, they have a tv and phone, although no English channels, only German and Dutch, we did ask for some English channels to be put on, although the engineer 'didn't turn up'. Also, air conditioning is included. A great place to stay if you want a nice relaxing holiday.
