Divina Studios, Laganas
The Divina Studios are basic apartments suitable for families, couples or single people after some budget accommodation in Laganas. The apartments are on the edge of the resort, about 10 minutes walk along the beach to the resort centre where these's a wide choice of shops, bars and restaurants.more

I went to Divina studios in Laganas on the 20th September 2007 with my partner. We are both aged 23 and obviously like a good time, but also like some kip when we roll into bed, so reading some of the reviews on numerous sites I got a bit worried. There was no need! The studios were great in every sense. The rooms and the communal areas were clean (obviously not 5 star) the people were excellent and tried their best to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable, at night we wasn't kept awake by any kind of noise (excluding a cockrel which we got used to!!) Overall, we had an excellent break away. I would recommend the Divina Studios to all and would happily return their ourselves.

A group of 7 girls went to Zante for the time of our lives. We couldn't find any reviews about the Divina Studios, so were expecting the worst. It's just basic accommodation and it is clean. In the corner there is a tiny work surface- impossible to cook anything on the stove but you can eat out. After a shower you can smell sewage. It's rank! That's not the worst part. There were some girls a few doors down making noise. The manager thought it was us and decided to throw a glass bottle at us on the balcony. Next thing we knew they burst into our room and started screaming Greek at us and kicked our cases, I was actually scared for my life. One of the lads came in and he had him up against the wall. We were terrifed and they said they were ringing the police- DO NOT mess with police over there they don't follow the law and they hate English people. I saw a lad get punched and kicked into the sea. Two people died this year from attacks by the police. We were all crying and the managers- Nikos, Maria and Spiros stood there laughing and blocking our way. They dragged our friend Jim out the room and I followed, Maria pulled my hair and threatened my friend Fi, saying she will throw her off the balcony. We got told to pack our cases and leave immediately. So we did! We weren't allowed our passports and they said they lied about ringing the police. We left and were homeless at 4.30 in the morning with our suitcases. We were offered a place at the lads hotel though, so stopped there. Next day we went back to collect suitcases and we got told we could go back, we had no other choice. It is illegal to throw us out like they did and they tried to get us to sign a contract saying they didn't ask us to leave- which we refused because we wouldn't have been able to report it when we returned home. Please- DONT GO THERE! I was terrified for my life at one point.

Me and my group of 6 went to Zante this year (Aug 2007) and stayed in Divina. For the first week I thought the owners and the bar tenders were a bit dodgy but after a week we got to know them and they were great! Our 3 lads in our group got on especially well with Spiros, Maria and Nikos so we had no problems with them there. I must admit though we heard a bit about other groups getting in trouble but I just presumed they were taking the p**s a bit. The owners stay up til at least 5am to keep an eye out on everyone so I don't blame them to be honest. We were on the top floor which was amazing! It was like the crazy floor. Sometimes the other people on our floor took the p**s a bit. We had drunk blokes running in our rooms naked. Was pretty funny though. We made a lot of noise, I must admit, but they never bothered to come upstairs and tell us off! Sometimes they stood below our balcony and looked up but that was about it. I must admit, Nikos wasn't the most helpful bloke, didn't trust him personally but he wasn't too bad. You gotta love Spiros though! What a legend! I'd say the accommodation was good value for money considering it wasn't that much. The location was great! 3 min walk from local shop, 3 mins from beach, 10 mins from the strip. Perfect! It was hidden away as well so it was really peaceful and beautiful. We had views of the sea and of cameo island. The apartments were pretty spacious, small cooking area, small bathroom (with a short shower curtain that made the bathroom floor soaked after every shower but it was funny I didn't mind!), 3 single beds in each room which plenty of space between beds and the best part was the decent size balcony! In other reviews it says it's more of a family place... but in the summer it's great for younger people cause there's a good atmosphere at night and it's usually quite loud- not suitable for families!

Absolutely amazing holiday! I went to Zante last summer (July 2007) with my three best friends on our fist girls holiday. We decided on the Divina Studios after reading some great reviews about the place... and they were all right! It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach where you can find shops and restaurants along the way. you have to walk along the beach for about 200 yards to get to the nightlife but we loved it! The hotel itself is basic, yes, and nights without air conditioning were annoying at times, but you can handle it! The owners themselves actually speak less English than their 14(ish) year old daughter, but you have Maria and Spiros for everything you need! They don't allow loud music to be played after 12am but that was about the time we were going out so it was all good. The owners themselves were actually lovely although they don't stand for any messing about so people need to be careful making TOO much noise! Would definitely recommend people stay there :)
