Hotel Hawaii is situated at the top of quite a steep hill, good exercise on the way back from the beach. Supermarket just across the road stocks practically everything. The food in the hotel is pretty basic but everything was cooked well and edible. Rooms were basic, too, but our balcony overlooked the street and we made good use of it. Staff were very friendly and spoke better English than I could speak Spanish. For what we paid we would definitely book this hotel again. We went in Sept 2008, lots of youngsters making a fair racket until all hours, if you want a quiet getaway, I suggest you look elsewhere. However, my wife and I loved it. Big up to Antonio, the bar man, he's a hoot.

The Hotel Hawaii was ok, the food was erm.... the security guard was an idiot. Other than that, a great holiday, apart from swiching the power off when breakfast was being served.

Don't Go!!!!!! Without a doubt this is the worst hotel I have ever encountered. Situation:- Hotel Hawaii is next to a very busy road where the Spaniards tend to sound their horns at all times of night just for the hell of it and drunken louts throughout the night stand around shouting. Accomodation:- Crammed twin rooms with beds of different heights made of a piece of chipboard on 4 legs with a rock hard mattress placed on it. We ended our holiday sleeping on 4 sunbed mattresses. Bare electric wires hanging from the lamps and balconys without any sea-view unless you are on the top floor at the front. Food:- Not to be served to a pig. The bread for making toast was mouldy with green fungus growing on it. Daily this was removed by the staff and replaced the following day by more green mould. The tea and coffee were made with lukewarm water and only available between 8am and 10am. Breakfast consists of very fatty bacon which looks as though it has been threatened with heat rather than cooked, eggs which were swimming in grease or the inevitable stale croisants. Dinner was totally inedible, nothing was even warm and whatever the guests did not eat on one day was served into fritters the following day. Any meat could not be cut without the help of a hacksaw. This was the same every day. Tea and coffee could not be obtained without paying extra. If you want water with your meal you must pay extra. If you decide to stay at the Hotel Hawai, EAT OUT. Hotel Hawaii Staff:- Rude, arrogant and most will not speak English. Theft is commonplace by the staff on tourists' phones, money and even safety deposit keys. If you need a repair doing in your room (and this is usual) whether it is the shower that isn't working the toilet broken (won't flush) or the glass in the balcony doors falling out be sure that it will be fixed for the next guest because it won't be fixed for you. Hotel Hawaii Entertainment:- In the lobby is a huge board which states the entertainment available almost every hour of the day. However this is for another hotel which you do NOT have access to. The entertainment for the Hotel Hawai consists of a man sitting playing an organ and singing half of the words to a song. This lasts for about 30 minutes. On the rare occasion when something special is on (and I mean "rare") tourists cannot get a seat in the bar area as hoards of local Spaniards descend on the bar area and take over never even as much as buying a drink between them. This show again will last for almost 30 minutes and then you can return to the bar and get a seat. Satelite TV in all the rooms shows only Spanish TV. The pool area is extremely small with room for maybe 25 people as is the pool both of which are dirty and covered with the dropping of the many housemartins which nest under the balconys. On the occasion that the pool area is not crowded noisy spanish locals will enter and take possesion of the pool. Summary:- If you are Spanish this must be a great place to stay, You can chat with the dozens of schoolchilden who hang around the lobby kicking footballs around, share the illgotten swag stolen by the staff and eat the disgusting food at the same time as shouting and blocking doorways, lifts, staircases and anything else to make the tourist, who after all is paying for it, feel totally unwanted, tired and very grateful when it is time to go home. This is a terrible place for anyone to stay and we were more than delighted when our day of departure arrived. Good Luck. You are going to need it. STAY AWAY
Hotel Hawaii - Jo. Date of travel: Jul 2006
We stayed in Hotel Hawaii and it was awsome. Its def a active holiday for the younger generation. the beach bars were kool wiv fab cocktails, a great way to unwind after the hectic night/morning before. Tropics is the club to go too, especially for the English!! it is a friendly atmosphere except for a load of italians that caused a scene with their tunes everywhere. Going clubbin was great in the evenings and it is safe. There was two of us (gals) and it was totally safe. It was a shingle beach and if your hoping to get on it and find a space go at about 6am, lol. the beach is ALWAYS rammed. You find after that all the shops sell the same tourist stuff, it reminded us a bit like Blackpool but with the sun. However it was the most awesome 2 weeks we have ever had. although we are gonna experience a different part of the world this year we would DEFINATELY go back. (we still talk about the holiday now-we went in july 06) fantastic!! If you are young, want to have chill, have fun, do sports, met new people, go clubbin and have some lifetime memories I would definately recommend going to Lloret
