I've been to Santa Susana Resort twice. Going again 29/04/09 and can't wait! Everything is catered for...food is good, booze is always flowing hotel clean and friendly. It's what you pay for...there are no hidden charges only safe and arcade charge...same as anywhere in the world. Close to all amenities, 10 min walk all on the flat except steps up to hotel... I can't believe how this hotel stays consistently low priced, but I'm not moaning. It means I can go more.... 4-star in my opinion - don't believe the moaners. |Go and you will enjoy yourself...

Got back from the Santa Susana Resort yesterday. Can't believe the bad reviews people are leaving about this hotel, it's cheap as chips and therefore simply cannot be called bad. If you feel you paid too much for this hotel then you were ripped off by the Travel Company. We booked through Travel Republic and paid 13.50 per person per night! This is All Inclusive. I have to say when I read the reviews on here I was really panicky but OMG some people are so pathetic. The hotel was absolutely fine. The rooms were nice and clean. OK, you didn't get soap or a comb but you had a nice big TV, towels, etc. The rooms was cleaned every morning (beds made, brushed, floor, clean towels etc). Food was nice. You had your usual salad bar as you normally do with all inclusive. Soup, loads of fresh bread, chips, gravy, pasta, vegetables, usually 2 types of meat and a fish, ham, meatballs, cheese, etc. Breakfast usual sausage (always 2 types of sausage) bacon, eggs, beans, tomatoes, toast, cereals, cheese, ham. There was even a small section for kids with nuggets, fish stars, sausages, etc so had my fussy little mites been with me they would have been absolutely fine! I can only presume that anyone who doesn't like the food at this hotel is used to going to 5 star hotels or has never been all inclusive before because it is just like all other all inclusive hotels! The staff at the bar were nice, all staff around hotel, everyone smiley and friendly. It was pretty chilly a night but I expected that because of the time of year so i took some warm PJs with me. I can't believe people have moaned about the temperature, you weren't expecting sea and sun in March and April were you?? LOL. that's so funny. And then they slag the hotel off because of it!! If I spot anymore cheap flights I would definitely book this hotel again. Downsides: I feel this hotel is best if you are having a lazy break as it really is in a random location. Or perhaps a family with small children that didn't want to do much trapesing around. There is a large supermarket next door with a couple of shops inside and then there is a free bus from the hotel which goes into Santa Susana where there are a few shops and bars (although very little was open this time of year). We walked back from Santa Susana which took, if I remember rightly about 20 mins. There is a small park which is nicely fenced in and a small toddler pool as well as a larger pool. The hotel has a small arcade which does have to be paid for and other than this I am afraid I didn't see much else for the children to do, but I did hear that they put a video on for them at 9pm. Oh toasties, chips, burgers and hotdogs and ice cream are available at the pool during the day but I don't think there was any evening snacks. Standard rules at the bar, only two drinks per person and plastic glasses, but not the usual ones you get these were tough plastic much better than the ones you normally get. Hotel is quite small and the evening seating area got very busy, I think the hotel was let down by its lack of seating but then I imagine in the summer when it's warm at night, people sit outside so that problem is solved then. Once again for the price for this hotel it's an absolute bargain! It's not the Ritz, so if you are expecting that, pay a bit more!

Santa Susana was the worst hotel I have ever been to. Food was disgusting had to go into the town every day for something to eat. Not a hotel for families who are on a tight budget. Was told by a few couples hotel used to be called another name and was featured on holidays from hell.

Absolutely rubbish! The whole set up was a terrible experience for me, my partner and our 2 kids. When we arrived all seemed ok but the next morning we were privey to the horrors of this so called 3 star establishment. The food was appauling. I myself have been a chef and caterer for over 20 years so it was never going to be up to my standard which was a running joke between my partner and myself before we left here. But this was worse than ever! It was cold, tasteless and uninventive. The so called chefs have absolutely no understanding of catering. My childen couldn't eat it, I never touched it and my partner was ill because of it! Don't go ever!

My friend Janet and I left our husbands at home and looked for a cheap holiday. We had a good time at the Sanata Susana Resort. Staff very friendly, hotel very clean, rooms are good. We had a balcony to match the size of our room. The only thing missing was a table on the balcony. Drinks were 5 star, food needs a bit more variety but okay. We also found it could do with more entertainment (variety) but on the whole we had a great week that was 21st -26th May 2007.

 I hated santa susana resort
My husband and my children stayed at the Santa Susana Resort from the 13th July 2006 - 26th July 2006 and we felt like we had been there a month. We arrived late on the 13th and were urshered upstairs to the 4th floor to a room with 5 single beds one small window (if you look at the resort pictures you will see the attic like windows! Yes! they actually put people in these rooms (5 of us 2 adults and three children aged 16, 12 and 9). There is no air conditioning in these rooms. And both sides of the ceiling where slanted which meant you could only walk up the centre of the room. We were so tired when we arrived that I thought it best left until the morning to ask to be moved as there were quite a few people still checking in. I went down early the next morning only to be told if I wished to move it would cost me an extra 300 euros. I tried to explain (as some staff can only understand you when it suits them!) that it was surely for health and safety reasons dangerous to put 5 people in a room so small. They insisted that this was the only way I could be moved was to pay extra. I was speaking to a lovely girl on holidays with her family later on that day by the pool and she told me she had just paid to get out of the same room I was in the day before I arrived. This is definately a little scam they have going putting people in a room that there is no way you could possible stay in and charging them to move. I also witnessed a member of staff kick a 14 yr old child as her mother had been arguing about how the resort shop had lifted her lilo and sold it to someone else in the hotel. The manager then threatened to throw the family out and tried to physically cut the teenagers band of with a pair of scissors. I have never seen anything like this staff before in my life. On a positive note (if any) the food was okay but the dinning room was not air conditioned. So as we found during their heat wave you could not sit for to long to eat. (obiviously what the hotel wants). Please believe me when I say that I usually try and make the best of a bad situation and never complain but this resort was terrible Tour Operator: Mediland
