Just got back today from Salou, do not stay in the International 11 Aparthotel whatever you do, was there for two weeks it took them ten days of complaining to change our sheets and when they did mine were blood stained and when I complained I was told (wait for it) 'well maybe the cleaner had a period and sat on the bed and did not have time to change the sheets again'. Helloooooo!?!?!? No clean towels, no toilet paper, the security guard was a joke and don't stay in apt 339 because the one next door is owned by a Spanish family. They let their teenage kids stay there and the boom boom music starts around twelve at night and continues until around 6 in the morning and if you complain as we did you will be told, 'sorry, nothing we can do, they own the apartment but we will give you a voucher for a free meal'. (which is totally inedible) and I really mean that the food is s**t. Go to Sinatras next door the food and entertainment is brilliant! Pity they don't have apartments as well. As far as I can see if you just sit on your balcony at night having a conversation the security will tell you you talk too loud but if you shout and sing until all hours of the night you will get on fine so if you stay there, shout, scream, run around naked, do your best to be obnoxious and you will get on great but don't act normal or not like to sleep with blood on your sheets.

Internacional II Ė sorry Stalag II. On arrival hotel looked nice from the outside, walking into the reception area, things looked promising. Entered the room and it is the biggest s**thole I have ever stayed in, in my life. I would have sooner spent 2 weeks sleeping in cardboard city in the London Docklands. The room was filthy, the sheets were stained, had holes in them and smelt of urine. When you went to the bathroom you were greeted by the wondering around of poor Spanish ants, trying to escape a fate worse than death. Towels were changed 4 times over the 2 weeks and the bed linen once. Room was never cleaned, had to do this ourselves, even though our mop was full of hairs and didnít even have a brush!!!! If you tried to warm up a bit of soup for the little ones the electricity blew and you had to keep switching it back on by the tripper switch. Went downstairs to drown my sorrows and came across the worst entertainer in my life, whose sole act was getting grown men up, asking them to retrieve items from ladies, (i.e. shoes, lipstick, bras) and dressing them for a competition called Miss Salou 2008, and this was supposed to be entertainment for our teenage daughter. The guy, Tom, who we nicknamed Talentless Tom and a girl Laura, could not organise a sweet club. The best part of the entertainment that night was the parrot show. Talentless Tom, promised us that after the magnificent entertainment he would take us to the local bars and get us some free shots, the only free shot I wanted from him was to put a bullet right between his eyes!!! Women, beware!!!! There is a pervert Security Guard who woke the Mrs up at 2pm and asked her to be quiet actually stating ďI will be your friend if you are quiet, a real good friendĒ, she told him where to go and shut the door in his face. He stands around outside during the night smoking cigarettes with his mate from room 533, whilst trying to chat up young girls coming in after a night out a bit worse for wear. His mate, who does nothing but complain about other residents, talking on their own balcony, coming in from a night out or even if you fart coming out of the lift. We reported him to the manager of the hotel and our Rep (Amy Halliday, Thomas Cook) who by the way was as useful as a chocolate fireplace, every time anything went wrong she would disappear like a magic act from David Copperfield re-appearing from another part of the hotel stuffing her face with the biggest ice cream I have ever seen in my life. After we reported the sad useless Security Guard, who couldnít even get himself out of a paper bag and could do with a bar of soap, he seemed to stay clear of us and focused his attention on other poor women with children. After all the problems we encountered, we asked to be moved only to be told we had to pay Ä300. They should have paid us that to stay there!!!!! Had a boss time with the lads from South Wales in the rooms next to us, a great bunch of people. We requested a pool view, what a view we got!!! We looked outside from our balcony only to find 5 great big bins in the street (by the way, the bin men come to empty the bins between 2 and 3 a.m. every morning, watching these was more entertaining than watching the shows downstairs). The pool was absolutely freezing, even on a very hot day. Letís hope you donít need the Lifeguard, as the state of his clothing, ie ripped jeans that he walked on would even sink the Titanic. You would probably end up saving him. Didnít eat from the hotel, but what we saw you wouldnít even give to the rats. The best part of the holiday was when we got home and the Mrs found out that she was 5 months pregnant!!!! (You were right Den) please send me the 6 winning lottery numbers for this week, Iím going to need a few quid extra now.

We all had a terrible time at the International II. The security was a pervert! Always on the 5th floor chatting up young girls. Threatened to phone the police if we didn't be quiet! we all weren't allowed to talk to neighbours on our balcony or he'll come out shouting. We all met some very lovely people from Liverpool. Very friendly and very kind to our Lulu and Jamie :) But we weren't allowed to speak to them in the night. You weren't allowed to speak after 12am. The staff would look at us like a piece of s**t. It was 19 of us that went but only allowed 1 key for our rooms. I'd say the rooms were okay but my daughters fridge wasn't working. We went down and complained but they didn't do anything. The entertainment was Ok if I must say but my kids were mostly there :) Well basically the hotel was terrible! But great entertainment for my kids! But if I must say I went there a few years back and loved it. Didn't want to come home. The security was great but this year was hell. We couldn't wait to go back home!

We arrived on a Tuesday night and we booked flights home on the Thursday morning. Horrible room, felt like we were staying in a chip van. When we were lying in bed our feet were almost in the fridge. They would have been in the oven as well, except there was no oven. The toilet was disgusting. The bathroom smelt like a public toilet. The music from the poolside was like that of a bad wedding and so loud, the same crap every night.

Rooms are very small, Ok for two people but no more than that. Also you have to take out your own rubbish to the bins outside the apartments, which I thought was a bit much, also the cleaners don't actually clean the apartment during your stay, it's really up to yourself. On the plus side, our towels were changed 3 times during the week, the staff at the reception are very helpful. In general I thought the apartments were Ok, if you are looking for a cheap getaway, these would be perfect, especially if you aren't too fussy. WARNING: There is a pub right next door to the apartments, Sinatras, I've been on many holidays, and I've never ever came across staff as rude as the staff in Sinatras, Rude, vulgar and I hate saying it but 2 waitresses in particular were filthy, just horrible people full stop.

I loved this holiday!! Went in the last week of July and the first week of August 2007. Stayed at Catalonia Gardens but spend most of our time at International II as there was great entertainment! The hotel wasnt far from the shops and there was plenty of good restaurants to choose from. Loved holiday reps Tom, Laura, Tiny and Dan! Loved the holiday and will be going back to International II in Salou next year!!

Salou international II room was clean and big enough for two people. Wouldn't like to be squeezing more than that into the studio though. Toilet was also good with an excellent powershower. When we arrived and were allocated our room, we discovered there had been a leak in the ceiling and plaster had fallen down onto the bed below it. Within 2 minutes we were allocated a new and perfect room. Entertainment at the pool was quite loud, but we found it amusing. The nightlife in Salou is crap. It's mostly geared towards up to 18s and maybe over 50s and nothing in between. The only nightlife we really enjoyed (and was in any way lively at the start of June - Salou nightlife was like a ghost town) was Chaplins, where the staff were fabulous and the entertainment was great too (keep an eye out for the VERY sweet Royston who works there). As for the food in Salou... if you are happy with sausage and mash, or frozen burger in a bun with chips - you're laughing. If however you expect to eat in nice restaurants then you have a task ahead of you to find them. Only places I would recommend in Salou to eat are the Guinness Tavern and Italiano Sorrento which is just off a side street to the apartments. The Comedy Bar is a good spot for some scrambled eggs! Salou was very rough - nastiest place I have ever been. In the week we were there a 17-year-old English boy was knifed to death outside Kiss nightclub, and a girl was raped up the alleyway of the side of the International II. These were all kept pretty quiet so many guests hadnt heard about what was going on. During our one week stay, three apartments (that we heard of) were broken into in these apartments. Two were on our floor (2nd) and one on the floor below us. They were using the fire escape to get into the hotel and basically pushing the door in to gain access to apartments. The apartments have no way of being locked from the inside - and there is no phone in the room to phone reception and no peephole to see who is knocking at your door. The Lithuanian guy who works security for the International also works as a rep for Sinatra's next door. On checkout he refused people their deposit (Ä100) back until they had cleaned out their fridge (usually leave anything that is good still in there for the cleaners who may wish to take home) and also insisted that people return to their rooms to empty their bins and take the rubbish out. And the insisting was NOT done in a nice way. There were a lot of very upset people at checkout. I would not go back to Salou as it's too unsafe!

I went to International II with husband & 2 kids thought the entertainment was good for the first week but then it got repetitive some of the staff ok. We went to the bar one nite and we were given lager slops when we complained we were told "you're on holiday go away" we were very annoyed nothing got done about it. But other than that we enjoyed the holiday and we would go back. Also when we were there CCTV was getting installed.

Stayed in International II in May '07 and had a great time. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was a bit small so if you like to have a bit of space you would find this a bit of a problem. My friends came up to our pool everyday for the entertainment. Food was nice and reasonably priced. Entertainment at night was very good. Can't imagine you would get better elsewhere. Overall we were delighted with the holiday!

Stayed at the International II hotel. Hotel room was ok, shower head fell off the wall, sat on chair and it broke. Staff very friendly, entertainment was very good. We went in October so maybe it was because it was end of season. Wouldn't like to go at height of season and a lot of thefts from rooms. Ok for a cheap break

The International II in Salou is very good , in the way of the people working or entertaining there , i.e. Apartment staff on the desk 24 hours a day, and Entertainers working to entertain you from 11am -3 pm and 7pm -1am . The entertainment is very good for the first 3-4 days then it's like ground hog day after that, same ole same jokes time after time. The beer is very cheap also in their bar. 2.2 Euros for the local spanish beer and cocktails are 5 Euros unless its happy hour 7.30pm -9.00pm, when theyre half price. Hence everyone else from all the other apartments near by come into the International II's bar to take advantage of this. We was there only 3 days when a fight started out between 4 Southerners and a Northerner (not what families want to see really). The same fight happened again 2 days later, but with back up, i.e. a larger fight. Also if you're a family then be in for some long noisy nights, when you go to your room to settle down after a day out, around about 1 am mark, then 2 hours or so later all the lager louts start pouring in singing down the hallways, shouting, generally balloning about. So be prepared for this. As Salou is mainly a cheap destination to travel to, then expect the cheap council estate cliental to be habitating there with you, again I didnt go on holiday to listen to what I can listen to back home, mouthy, cocky, arrogant people trying to take on anything that stands between them, because thats how they were brought up.
