If you like to relax stay away from the Marmaris Palace, there is no place to escape from the swimming pool entertainment noise. Every morning it's a battle to get one of the too few deck chairs (forget after 8.30am). The hotel's heavy looking decoration hasn't changed from the eighties. The food is OK (one can see that the cook does his best with a very limited budget). Stay away from the processed meat though: even the hotel's hungry cats wouldn’t touch the rubber-like hamburgers. The shows at night are just appalling and sometimes incredibly vulgar (belly dancer undulating with her rear on the nose of a Russian tourist). The 'beach' is a concrete deck but the view is superb and the water is very clean.
