July 07 was the first time we holidayed in Turkey. We stayed in the Montebello Hotel in Oludeniz. The rooms we're basic but clean (the cleaner work 12 hour days). Arriving early doors made us dubious at first but in the morning after our 3 minute eggs they provide for brekkie (don't expect Claridges) the atmosphere and location becomes apparent. Staff are so familair which when on hols is nice considering our milk man doesn't even say hello and that stretches across the board to the whole area. The Turkish night on Wednesdays is impressive as well as Tuesday nights in the a La Mare just 5 mins left of the hotel, if you can keep a straight face for 2 mins at he start then you'll love it. We went as a couple and had best of both worlds, the Montebello Hotel by day and night is everrything you want if you don't have a 5 star expecation. The bar staff 'Reggie and Joseph' speak the best english and they'll sort any issues better then the reception staff. The normal beach is shingle but the Lagoon beach 10 mins from the Montebello Hotel is worth its cost to get in for a great day snorkling in a lake'esque setting. The walk from the Bello to the beach front takes 10 mins, the PR for excursions and the restaurants can be annoying but saying maybe tomorrow and just eaten already will help. We reccomend the 'Focus' jeep safari and the 'Volkan' boat trips, we would of loved to have done the paragliding but when we stayed it was in the 40's and 50's so there was no way we were getting any closer to that sun. Enjoy!

Me and a friend stay in the Montebello Hotel for 12 nights and didnt want to leave. We made so many friends there. The staff were helpful and great fun. You must go to their Turkish night on a Wednesday. BBQ and belly dancers and hip hop dancers. We had amazing time. Everything in walking distance too.

Just returned from a lovely 11 nights at the Montebello Hotel. Rooms and balcony on the small side, but clean. Friendly and helpful staff would recommend food at Hotel. A word of warning if you are considering hiring a car. Do not hand over your passport (although they may take details or even a photocopy) ensure you receive a hire agreement on headed note paper and get a receipt for any monies paid over. Hired a car from Express rental office in Oludeniz only to find the car we were given was not a hire car and we were not insured. Although we had paid an additional premium for full insurance. Express dealt with this very efficiently and provided a rental car with full insurance. We now understand that the employee's name we believe is Asim sought to defaud us and his employer is no longer employed at this office.

Just got back from Oludeniz, Turkey. The Montebello is just perfect and I can't wait to go back. It's set in a quiet location with breathtaking scenery you can relax by the pool, drink at the bar, eat at the pool side, play pool or ping pong and every Wednesday evening they have a belly dancer in. Everything else you need is a 5- 10 min walk away from you, the staff are friendly the accommodation is 100% clean and bug free, the rooms are very basic but supply air conditioning and hairdriers, it has everything you need. The food is excellent and very cheap, around £2 each a meal. Drinks are expensive but you do get more for your money than over here. You have a choice of all the food you can imagine just outside of the Montebello Hotel, even a sunday roast. Down the road you have a wonderful selection of shops and bars which kept us entertained all week. You can shop at the local Tuesday market its huge were you will get everything much cheaper and see a little culture at the same time. (The sunday market is very small and not as good). Mosquitos are a big problem in the area so make sure you are well protected, I recommend a local disabled man in the main town center he's a herbalist and stopped and cured all of our bites I didnt get bitten again all for £7 well worth it any ailments go and see him he will treat you for free. This was the best holiday I have ever had the people are friendly and its so safe there they adore children and they will make sure they stay safe. I recommend the Montebello Hotel not only because of the above but its also one of only 3 hotels that is not miles from the beach shops and resturants, you wont regret booking your holiday here; I can't wait to go back.
