The Turquoise Hotel definitely caters for the Hi-Di-Hi end of the market. If you enjoy organised fun in the pool for the entire day, then this is definitely the place for you! Our room was small but immaculately clean. The maid was fantastic. We were unfortunately given one of the caves on the ground floor and suffered every time there was an organised event, such as the weekly Turkish Night. Everything, including the barbeque, was set up on the lawn right outside our room (504). The room bore no resemblance to the picture on the hotel's web site.
The fridge in the room was in fact an old style mini-bar with a few soft drinks and bottled water. There were signs in reception saying that guests were not allowed to bring their own food and drink into the hotel which we, and most other guests, chose to ignore especially as the hotel prices were three times those of the local supermarkets. The hotel’s website also refers to a gym. What there really is, is an outdoor cage with some old and broken equipment and a few weights. Most of the equipment was dangerous so stick to the weights and the pool.
The pool was good although the sunbeds were very cramped and had usually all gone well before 7am and there was a shortage of sun umbrellas. There were large outdoor cushions available for use on the lawn (or 'swamp' as we called it, due to it being saturated every night by the over-zealous gardener). The staff were generally very helpful and pleasant, although the reception staff could be a bit vague. Olu Deniz is a great resort with fantastic restaurants and food. Be warned the portions are huge and starters are not usually required! We didn’t go to Sugar Beach, but was told it was very crowded and not too clean. We would definitely return to Olu Deniz, but not to the Turquoise Hotel.

The Oludeniz Turquoise Hotel (3 star) is situated 600m away from the resort centre and is set in it’s own large gardens. The beach is only a short stroll away and the views of the Baba dag mountains are wonderful. It's a great retreat from the otherwise build up resort. The rooms are good and service is pretty efficient - we'll go back if possible. For the fitness enthusiasts there is a gym, tennis court and a large swimming pool. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook
