Thank goodness for the staff, as they are about all this hotel has to offer! Don't get me wrong, the location is fantastic, but the condition of the hotel detracts from this. In their wisdom, the owners have decided to build apartments alongside. They should first consider spending money on their existing rooms! Remember when Dallas was on TV? That is when the rooms were last decorated & furnished. Leaking roof in the dining room, mobile phone mast fixed to the wall outside the junior suite (very junior), slow service in the dining room, outside bars closed when a wedding function is on (both the Saturdays we were there). There are 5 floors but the lift only goes to the 4th! The Black Dog bar is run & operated by the hotel also, so once again, investment is lacking. The staff are very helpful, but space is limited. All in all a very run down hotel in a superb location.
