Stayed recently at the Berkeley Hotel with my wife, as a special treat. The hotel is in a great location, opposite Hyde Park and near the excellent shopping at Sloane Street, Harrods and Harvey Nichols. The rooms are large and very comfortable, although not that unique, but the facilities really are five-star. There's a rooftop pool and a fantastic spa. On the downside, the service was a bit hit and miss - the staff were charming but we often had to wait a long time to get served. And it's predictably very expensive. My advice - stay at the Berkeley Hotel London if you have time to enjoy the facilities, but it's not worth it if you are just staying overnight unless money is no object.
