I love Palma Nova and Magaluff - Jayne Sumner. Date of travel: Jul 2006
If I won the lottery this would be my home. Fantastic breathtaking beaches, the sea the clearest barr none. The people friendly and inviting. The whole place is spotless being cleaned before you even get up. The pubs are great and fun. The clubs are even better. I enjoyed two weeks of peace but with loads of fun and loads to do.I have been going abroad for years but will always go back to majorca. Oh and by the way Im a woman in her 30s and already my kids are big fans of majorca too. Tour Operator: firstchoice

Want to get away from the stereotypical view of Club 18-30 that has engulfed Spain's resorts, especially the infamous Maguluf, then look no further than the beautiful, peaceful country house of Es Passarell in the district of Felanitx in the south east of the island. A picturesque location of tranquility, just 20 minutes from a variety of beautiful beaches. The surrounding lands are great for a relaxed wander, or just sit by the pool in a perfect country environment. The owners are a pleasant British couple who quit the 'rat race' to run a place that offers what all peace loving, relax searching couples and families can enjoy. Go to www.espassarell.com

We really liked the resort of Puerto Pollensa. It was quiet enough and relaxing enough for us, but with enough to do for our 10 year old daughter. We were only a short walk from the beach, which was a very nice clean beach and we spent plenty of time there when it wasn't too hot. The port area of the resort was very beautiful, with quaint shops and local bars and restaurants, as well as livelier bars for tourists. We went on the island tour, which took us to Calobra, Puerto Soller and Soller, all stunningly beautiful places. It was lovely for my husband and I sightseeing and our daughter didn't get bored because we went by coach, then by boat and then by train (the 1912 wooden train). It was the best day of the holiday by far. We don't normally like to book organised tours but this was great because we got free time in Calobra and in Puerto Soller. We booked the tour through the reception at the hotel and paid about 12 euros less than what First Choice were charging for the same excursion. We only came for a week because it was our second holiday of the year. In May we went to Palma Nova but we definitely preferred the North of the island. Tour Operator: First Choice
Mallorca - Mark Healy. Date of travel: Jun 2005
Sorry to say we only travelled out side Santa Ponsa twice to go to water parks, there was so much to do where we were. Right beside us was a lovely cove for snorkeling and fishing with the kids and a bar for the adults ie. a little piece of heaven. Oh I nearly forgot, went out on boat trips, had great craic. 2 treble barcadis and cokes for a fiver on board "Happy Days". I stayed in Cala Egos which is a smaller resort out side Cala d'or. This is a fairly new and known resort which still has beautiful beach coves and good shops and bars close to hand. This is a good family resort with most hotels having their own entertainment. Cala d'or is about A 10 minute taxi ride away, where you will find a lot more shops and restaurants. puerto pollensa is found in the northern part of the island surrounded by lovely green mountains. the resort itself has an abundance of restaurants to suit all tastes and many shops to peruse. Why not take a leisurely walk along the 'pine walk' which begins from the small marina along the shore's egde and watch the sand artists creating their sculptures. The sand is golden and the sea tempting, however it can be quite choppy for youngsters. Tour Operator: seligo

i have visited the isalnd of majorca several times but have to say that santa ponsa was by far my favourite. it is a fairly large resort spread into 2 sections, so plenty going on but not too busy in 1 place.the beach is lovely soft sand with gentlty shelving shores ideal for little ones to paddle!!! it is only 30 mins transfer from palma airport... also a 20-30 min bus ride to palma city with the shops, cathedral, harbour and lots more!! if you fancy the bright lights of palma nova or magaluf then again 15 mins busride or 5 mins taxi ride will get you there!!!
