I was in Valencia as part of a student exchange and fell in love with the city. It’s unarguably one of the most beautiful in Spain and is a fantastic mix of trendy bars and cafes and relaxed coastal hangouts. As a young woman on my own I felt incredibly safe walking around and using public transport became second nature to me. Must see sights are the Old Quarter, the Palau de la Música and the Torres de Serranos.
