Cappadocia
The central region of Turkey, Cappadocia, is a unique and fascinating natural landscape of wonderful volcanic rock formations, mysterious underground cities, remote chapels and monasteries, and stone dwellings where early Christians sought sanctuary. A holiday in Cappadocia’s Goreme National Park is an unforgettable experience. Visitors can explore the weird rock pinnacles of the Valley ofmore

Cappadocia is like a fairyland with its unbelievable rock formations and the people living inside their fairy chimneys. I chose to stay in Goreme which is a backpacker haven and a favourite for budget travellers - cheap, and full of charm. My accommodation was inside a fairy chimney itself, an oddly shaped cave room - so much character - and I had breakfast brought to the open roof every morning. It was easy to meet people here, particularly in the Flintstones Cave Bar! You can also hire mopeds and explore the amazing landscape yourself - highly recommended.
