One of the healthiest and happiest places to strap on a pair of skis is at Pamporovo in Bulgaria’s Rhodope Mountains, where sunshine glitters on silvery snowy slopes throughout most of the ski season. Besides winter sports and a first class ski school, the resort also offers a Balneological Centre. A holiday in Pamporovo ismore
I did Love Pamporovo - Steve and Bethan. Date of travel: Jan 2011
the slopes are well suited to beginner to intermediate, even though all the runs were not open (late January) the runs that were open and well covered and they were making the best use of the snow cannons. the instructors are patient and of a good standard. good value for money. it was my first time in Pamporovo but most of the people i met were returning for the umptenth time.

Learn to ski in Pamporovo
Had a great time in Pamporovo. I'd never touched a ski until the first day in ski school, and spent more time falling over than sliding, by the end of the 6 days I was confidently skiing down the green and blue runs. Thanks Dimitri.
Legendary vacation in Pamporovo - James Fiennes. Date of travel: Nov 2008
On vacation in Pamporovo in the Rhodope Mountains, we enjoyed the sunny Bulgarian winter and the snow was great. We chose this resort for its climatic therapy, and weren't at all disappointed by what the Balneological Centre had to offer. Most of the ski runs go from the Snejanka peak, which was stunning, and the ski school helped us iron out the finer details. We also spent some time in one of the folk taverns where the locals told us all about Orpheus, the mythical singer.
Pamporovo is a brill place and good for lots of abilities - Chris Evans. Date of travel: Feb 2008

Pamporovo resort... - Laurence Marris. Date of travel: Dec 2005
What a great ski resort, loved it superb, the wall, very challenging but very fun, I would recommend the Brother's restaurant at the midway point of the mountain, good hospitality, warm fire, great warming drinks, i would certainly recommend their chicken on a stick, superb... Bad bad snow, good Pamporovo - daz misters. Date of travel: Jan 1970
Wwhen we arrived at Pamporovo it was at night and there was hardly any snow but we got told that a lot was on its way. This did not happen, far from it as on the 3rd day it started to rain even at 1650m so the weather got worse and the tour people closed the mountain. If you like to board/ski on ice then this is the place to be. The local skiers were rude and nasty as they passed by. As we couldn't ski as the mountain was closed we had time to bar/pub crawl. THIS is the best bit as the local bar staff were so friendly, but really we wanted to be on the snow.. don't be put off by reading this as my friends have been and they had good snow but it's a resort that is low altitude so snow struggles to hang around so it just ices up. Hotel Pamporovo is a nice place, reasonable food. If the roads are slippy I tell you to get a taxi ride (not for faint hearted), they know how to drive like all the best rally drivers so that was amusing. Have fun if you do decide to go but BE SAFE as falling on ice is like falling on jagged concrete!!
