Costa Del Silencio
The name means “The Silent Coast”, but it is not very appropriate nowadays for this compact but crowded holiday resort on the south coast of Tenerife. Costa del Silencio is tucked between larger resorts, with the frenetic Playa de las Americas a few miles away, and close to the international airport. It is a hodge-podgemore
Costa Del Silencio - Melissa Cohen. Date of travel: Feb 2009
We've just returned from Costa Del Silencio and had a pleasant time, however there is no beach there and we had to travel a bit further to find one we liked. Also it's not golden sand territory, it's black volcanic sand. The other thing is the expense, if you shop in local stores and buy UK products it costs and arm and a leg so beware. We went self catering and spent a fortune on food. Tenerife itself is nice but a mixture of over commercialisation and old style Spain. Mount Teide was the highlight for us.
