Climate in Cook Islands

The Cook Islands have a warm, tropical climate year-round, making them ideal for beach holidays. The hot, wet season runs from November to March, with average temperatures around 82°F (28°C). Rain usually comes in short, heavy showers (often in the late afternoon), which help cool the air. This period is also cyclone season, with February being the most active month, though severe storms are relatively rare.

From April to October, the islands experience a cooler, drier season with temperatures between 70°F and 80°F (20°C to 26°C) and lower humidity, making it a popular time for visitors. Ocean temperatures remain warm throughout the year, perfect for swimming and water activities.

Tourism is steady year-round, with a slight peak from June to August as New Zealand and Australian travellers escape their winter. Prices for accommodation and activities stay relatively consistent, and the weather ensures enjoyable conditions almost any time of year.
