Climate in Macedonia

North Macedonia has a continental climate with Mediterranean influences in the south and east. Summers (May to August) are hot and dry, with temperatures reaching up to 104°F (40°C), while winters are cold with snowfall, especially in the mountains. July is the warmest month with an average temperature of 72°F (22°C), and January the coldest with temperatures averaging around 33°F (0°C). Rainfall is highest in October and lowest in August. The best time to visit is during summer, though it can get crowded in popular spots such as Ohrid and Mavrovo. Winter attracts skiers, particularly in January and February. Spring and autumn are mild but rainy, with regional climate variations throughout the country.
