Province guides United States of America
Known for the glitz of Las Vegas and the stark beauty of desert sands that seem to go on forever, Nevada is an action-packed destination where adventure awaits. Bustling casinos, spectacular shows, striking natural spaces and superb food: the Silver State has it all.
At its heart lies Las Vegas, which is renowned globally for its vibrant nightlife, world-class entertainment and luxurious resorts. The iconic Las Vegas Strip is the main event and it positively dazzles with themed hotels, extravagant casinos, and an endless array of shows and concerts. The food scene is particularly good, too; dining options range from celebrity-chef restaurants to innovative eateries and sumptuous buffets that cater to every palate.
However, Nevada offers far more than splendid spa treatments and lively craps tables, as it boasts some of the most stunning natural landscapes in the country. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is just a short drive from Las Vegas, and features dramatic red rock formations that are perfect for hiking and rock climbing. Further afield, Great Basin National Park showcases ancient bristlecone pine forests, Lehman Caves, and the stunning Wheeler Peak. Helicopter tours to the Grand Canyon, traversing the Nellis Dunes in all-terrain vehicles, skiing in Lake Tahoe and boating on Lake Mead are all among the adventures on offer.
History buffs will find Nevada fascinating as well. Virginia City, a preserved 19th-century mining town, provides a glimpse into the state's Wild West past through historic saloons, museums and steam locomotive rides. Hoover Dam is a marvel of engineering on the border of Nevada and Arizona, and is a testament to human ingenuity during the Great Depression. Those interested the dam can book tours and enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Mead.
