Maseru Climate and Weather
Maseru has a subtropical highland climate, which means it experiences two distinct seasons. Summers, from September to March, are warm and are characterised by refreshing afternoon thunderstorms, with January typically being the hottest month. Winters, from April to August, are cold and dry, with June usually the coldest month.
Summer temperatures generally range between 79°F (26°C) during the day and 54°F (12°C) at night. In winter, daytime highs average around 61°F (16°C), while night-time lows often drop to 27°F (-3°C), with sub-zero temperatures common in June and July due to the city's high altitude.
