Perth Climate and Weather
Perth has a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. In summer (December to February) temperatures typically range between 65 °F (18 °C) and 86 °F (30 °C), occasionally reaching over 104 °F (40 °C). The sea breeze known as the Fremantle Doctor helps temper the heat during the afternoons. Rainfall during this period is very low, with only a few days each month receiving rain. Winter (June to August) is cool and wet, with daytime temperatures generally between 50 °F (10 °C) and 65 °F (18 °C) and cooler nights. Winter is the wettest time of year, although many days remain dry or partly cloudy. Tropical cyclones rarely affect Perth, making extreme weather events uncommon.
