Climate in Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic has a warm, tropical climate with little variation in temperature year-round, averaging about 77°F (25°C). Seasonal differences are mainly due to rainfall. The north coast is wettest from November to January, while most other areas see more rain from May to November. Conditions are generally cooler and less humid between November and April, especially in the mountains.

Hurricane season runs from June to November, with the highest risk between August and October. While major storms aren't frequent, it's wise to stay updated if visiting during this time. The busiest travel period is December to April, when many visitors come to escape colder climates, with a secondary peak during European summer holidays in June to September.
